John Lorimer, Inspector of Regimental Hospitals, to Carleton. New York. Memorial. His service from the last war [French and Indian] to date; mortification at seeing several other surgeons appointed before him, was prevented by his employment on a distant service from making his own application or benefitting from the influence of his friends had he remained on half-pay in Britain as many others did who served in the last war. Has sustained considerable losses in Florida. Asks that Carleton recommend him for the continuation of his salary of 20s a day granted to him for the last twelve months as Inspector.
