Full Description:
Samuel Cornwell or Cornell to Carleton. New York. Memorial. Was obliged to leave his estate in Dutchess County; came within British lines and joined the regiment commanded by Colonel Emmerick where he remained until discharged. Must leave his house on York Island as he is determined to go to Nova Scotia. Has supported his wife and family without any government assistance; is reduced to extreme poverty, unable to buy necessaries and his family must unavoidably suffer unless assisted by government. Asks for relief. With certificate signed by Tertullus Dickinson and Peter Hegeman.
