After his death she married Charles McCarthay of the 9th Regiment who was captured with General Burgoyne; that in endeavouring to make his escape from the rebels her husband was taken prisoner in the Highlands - soon after she was entrusted by General Arnold to bring his dispatches to New York a few days before he left the Rebel army at West Point and at the greatest hazard to her life brought them to the garrison and delivered them to General Robertson in the presence of Colonel Beverly Robertson. Is English, has signed to go to Nova Scotia with Mr Mullenshaw, has a family of three very sick children and no home in this city. Asks for relief to help them on their passage.
