Full Description:
Cornelius Hetfield or Hatfield to Carleton. Provost. Petition and answer to the charge contained in the deposition of Joseph De Hart (of robbery and violence). Asks that the accompanying certificate by George Ross not be sent out of British lines as it may prove ruinous to him who has given it from principles of justice. Asks for his discharge or, if this is not possible without security, he is ready to give this whenever required. Annexed is the certificate of George Ross, dated 24 August 1783.
