Full Description:
Brigadier-General A Bruce to Lieutenant-Colonel Oliver De Lancey. Flagstaff, Staten Island. Has sent up to the Provost Luther Baldwin and Thomas Aicken, inhabitants of New Jersey who have together with five others not taken, came in arms and boarded a sloop which was the property of Lewis Blanchard. They carried her up to Newark Bay until it was re-taken by an officer on duty there. Asks that His Excellency be informed that complaints of this nature [against the Patriot Americans] are made to him every day from the inhabitants of this island.
