Full Description:
Edward Winslow to Carleton. New York. Being about to embark with his family to Halifax, begs leave to suggest that he has no means of support but the allowance from government. His age and infirmities, and the necessities of the family unaccustomed to want make him look forward with great solicitude and anxiety for some permanent source of subsistence in a country where he will be a stranger. Requests an order which will enable him to receive the quarterly allowance of £50 as usual at Halifax.
