Full Description:
Carleton to Lord North. New York. Number 104. In consequence of His Majesty's orders he has given directions to Brigadier-General Fox to disband forthwith the 2nd Battalion 84th Regiment and all the British American Corps at present in Nova Scotia. These consist of the King's American Dragoons, Fencible Americans, Nova Scotia Volunteers, King's Orange Rangers, King's Rangers and St John's Volunteers. Four companies of the Royal Regiment of Artillery have already sailed for Canada and transports are preparing with all expedition to remove companies of the Garrison Battalion from Bermuda and those from St Augustine to Nova Scotia. Goes on further to discuss the disbanding and movements of men. Encloses copy of a letter from Governor Clinton and relates how the artillery and ordnance stores will be sent to England.
