Carleton to Lord North. New York. Number 106. Encloses copy of a letter written by a member of Congress to his friend concerning the intrigues of France in America. Also encloses several papers of information which may help to give an idea of the progress of the distracted state of the times, in particular of the violent intentions which numbers have formed against those who are considered as Loyalists here, should any of them remain after the final evacuation. The enclosure marked (B) is with respect to the projected voyages of two ships to China.
