Full Description:
John McGill to Carleton. Memorial. He is Quartermaster, Queen's Rangers Cavalry and asks to be reimbursed for the loss of a horse at sea. This happened in January 1781 on an expedition to Virginia under the command of Brigadier-General Arnold. A copy of his oath was made before the Deputy Judge-Advocate with regard to the value of the horse, and there is a cerficate confirming the same from the commanding officer of the regiment.
