Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Warrant to pay Ensign James Rose, acting paymaster to 1st Battalion 42nd Regiment (or Royal Highland Regiment), the sum of £591 10s 2d sterling. Being the amount of subsistence for the non-commissioned officers and privates, late prisoners of war of the said regiment from 24 February 1782 to 24 April 1783 inclusive.
