Full Description:
[Carleton] to Governor Parr. Thanks him for advice regarding a proposed sea route from Halifax to Quebec which bypasses American territory. Comments on settlers on land on the British side of the river St Croix but is concerned for those who have been driven from large and fertile plantations having to make do with smaller and infertile land in Nova Scotia. Hopes the Governor can accommodate them in more suitable areas. He encloses a list onf militia commissions he has granted since the last return. Adds that there may be around 8,000 to 10,000 more Loyalists intending to settle in Nova Scotia.
