Full Description:
Major William Anstruther to Carleton. Bermuda. Colonel Donkin desires him to implore his [Carleton's] consideration for the poor old men of the five companies [of the Royal Garrison Battalion] to send them to England to be invalided with the other two companies. The Colonel is waiting for their arrival to march them to Chelsea to pass the Board. Has sent to Major MacKenzie a roll of the names and pretentions. Postscript mentions his son Phillip whom he says is a very promising lad and that he has now to send him to Glasgow for education proper.
