Accompanied by a copy of a note from Rufus Herrick, Chairman of the Committee to Cook dated 19 August 1783, notifying him that he is to depart the county by the first day of September as he is considered to be an enemy to his country. He is to take all of his family and friends and that the king has provided for those of his character, or he may expect the blood of his injured country to fall on his head.
