Full Description:
Deputy Adjutant-General MacKenzie to Samuel Shoemaker. New York. The bearer of the letter, Elisha Beckwith a refugee from Connecticut, was formerly paid on Colonel Robinson's list and from the 1 January was paid on the refugee list. He has not been on the succeeding list and MacKenzie 'has been desired' to ask if there has been any particular reason why the bearer's name had been ommitted (from the late list of refugees).
