Full Description:
Northoup or Northrop Marple to Carleton. Memorial. Recounts his service record since 1777 as an army guide. Was imprisoned, incurred substantial losses. Received only a quarter of an allowance ordered in 1781 by Governor Robertson. His family was banished by Governor Livingston. Was promised a £10 a quarter allowance, but this was stopped due to the malaice of Samuael Shoemaker. Is in debt and distressed and requires help pending departure to Nova Scotia.
