Full Description:
F Michaelis to Major Beckwith. A letter from New York listing observations made of the Campaign as well as some individuals. Including: Sir Guy Carleton who is held in high esteem. Had he come sooner than he would have made Tories of all the Whigs (many wish he might be British Ambassador at Philadelphia). The French respect, fear and hate hime; Lord Cornwallis who is hated and despised by the allied nations (considered to be no general); and General Washington 'soon the Protector of America' [a new Cromwell].
