Full Description:
Brigadier-General Andrew Bruce to Carleton. A letter from Flagstaff, Staten Island containing a copy of a letter from the Adjutant-General regarding the alleged leaving of his post without orders. Had signed the embarkation order for troops to go to Nova Scotia and assumed, incorrectly, that he would go as well but circumstances in bad weather prevented this reasoning to be passed on; was too late to receive disapproval of his actions.
