Full Description:
Ward Chipman, Deputy Muster Master-General, to Carleton. Memorial stating that he had sought refuge with British troops in Boston, in 1774, and had been appointed to his present position by General Sir William Howe in 1777. Had left his property and his profession in the law for the service of his king but now found himself discharged without further support, and asks for half-pay for the office, or another position.
