Reverend James Brown to Sir Guy Carleton. New York. Memorial as chaplain to the battalion of British Grenadiers, late missionary for the parish of St George's in Georgia and chaplain of the Savannah garrison. His service in Georgia and New York. Complains that none of his appointments are permanent or such as will entitle him to half pay and that after his services and losses, is left destitute. Asks for consideration of his case and that he be provided either with a permanent appointment that will entitle him to half pay or for a recommendation to government at home. Refers Carleton to Brigadier-Generals Clarke and Fox for the justice and candour of the facts and circumstances.
