Bedford, Long Island. Proceedings of a Board held by order of Carleton to examine what money it would be necessary to issue to the detachment of the 71st Regiment before its embarkation, it being impractical to make a final settlement of the men's accounts until they rejoin the rest of the regiment back in Scotland. Present Lieutenant-Colonel De Lancey, Adjutant-General and Captain Handfield, paymaster of men of absent forces. Lieutenant-Colonel Gordon, 80th. Regiment, being very ill could not attend although ordered. Details the actions of Lieutenant Ross, the commanding officer, with regard to the men's pay and provision accounts and the amounts drawn by him.
