Full Description:
Sergeant William Muir, 80th Regiment, to [Carleton]. Kingsbridge. The death of Lieutenant-Colonel Gordon, having prevented the carrying out of Carleton's orders to enquire into the usage Muir's wife received from Lieutenant Cuningham, 80th Foot, requests that Cuningham be ordered to answer for what he has done. Annexes a copy of his memorial. Endorsed 'Referred to the officer who will command the 80th. Regiment in accession to Lieutenant-Colonel Gordon' Signed Frederick Mackenzie 21 October 1783. There is also a note ' A board of Enquiry within Read & approved 7 November '83'.
