Full Description:
William Waddell, coroner and twelve named jurors. Inquistion taken 22 October at the house of William Ballard, South Ward, City and County of New York on the body of Mary Tate, late wife of William Tate, private, 40th Regiment with a deposition by William Downey, matross [a gunner's mate] in Captain Downing's Company, 3rd battalion, Royal Regiment of Artillery. Inquisition taken 23 October at the house of John Deare, Montgomery Ward on the body of Joseph Clark, late captain of the transport ship 'Ann' with depositions by William Mason, chief mate of the 'Ann', and Joseph Cowen, grocer of New York. Inquisition taken 21 October at the house of William Ballard on the body of Elizabeth Willson [wife of Private William Willson, 26th Regiment] with a deposition by Margaret McFall, widow and resident of New York.
