Full Description:
Joseph and Richard Hayden to Carleton. Provost. Memorial. Giving the circumstances leading to their arrest and trial by a general court-martial on a charge of stealing a horse and chaise; representing their innocence and praying that they may be set free to go with their families to Nova Scotia before the Rebels enter the city. Joseph Hayden asks that if they must continue to be detained that he be freed from the dungeon and allowed to have the privilege of the prison in common with other prisoners.
