Full Description:
[Carleton] to the Landgrave of Hesse Cassel. New York. Lieutenant-General de Lossberg being on the point of sailing on his return to Europe, cannot let slip the occasion to testify to his merit and good conduct and the exemplary behaviour of the Hessian troops under his orders during the time he (Carleton) has had the honour of commanding this army. Says that the General's zeal and attention and the cheerful obedience of the officers and soldiers have on all occasions been conspicuous.
