Full Description:
George Brinley, Deputy Commissary to Carleton. New York. Memoral.That the house he now lives in was given him as a quarter in 1776 when the British troops took possession of New York; that soon after the owner availed himself of Sir William Howe's proclamation and demanded an annual rent of £90 which was regularly paid him by the Commissary-General until Carleton's arrival in May 1782. Prays for an order for payment from that time. £142 10s currency or £83 2s 6d sterling.
