Full Description:
Robert Ross to Carleton. New York. Memorial. For upwards of twenty one years has served in the Commissary-General's Department as Comptroller of Transports Accounts; that many of the transports were ordered home without settling their accounts leading to the masters sustaining a considerable loss and is now threatened with damages by those masters for merely obeying Govenment orders. Is also threatened with a claim for seven years' back rent of the small house allotted to him in William Street. For various considerations will be seeking asylum in New London. Asks for some settlement of disputes and other relief.
