Full Description:
Merchants of Charlestown. Form of a memorial to the commissioners [Carleton and Digby] with an invoice and deposition. The merchants (now in New York), petitioning on behalf of those British merchants remaining in South Carolina, for the purpose of recovering debts contracted during the period that place was occupied by the king's forces. Suggest that the commissioners would be pleased to order the granting at St Augustine [East Florida] of passports for the removing of such property to a neutral port.
