List of officers who have gone to Rhode Island upon parole with an acknowledgement by Major-General Phillips of receipt of the officers and their servants now permitted to go to Newport [Rhode Island] for which he promises to use his utmost endeavours that so many officers and privates of equal rank of the American officers and soldiers as Elias Boudinot, the American Commissary-General of Prisoners, shall nominate be sent out in exchange from New York or Philadelphia and in case that is not possible he engages that they will be accounted for in further exchange.
