Extract from the Minutes of Congress of a report by a committee on various letters from John Beatty, Commissary of Provisions, Joshua Loring, British Commissary of Provisions and John Connolly [described as Doctor and self-styled Lieutanant-Colonel] regarding the treatment of the latter who had been taken prisoner towards the end of November 1775 in Frederick County, Maryland when on his way to the British garrison at Detroit in the company of Allen Cameron and John Smith. The committee's resolutions are given. Signed by Cha[rles] Thomson, secretary.
