Full Description:
H [Henry] Hamilton to Alexander Macomb. St Vincennes. Informing him of his situation and asking him to continue with the settlement of his (Hamilton's) private accounts. He gives instructions about various personal matters including a request that if his servants, Garret and his wife, 'pass into another family it might be with the condition to return to 'his should he go back to Detroit and Conolly be apprenticed'. The second postscript written on the James's River 40 miles from Richmond mentions Garrett and his wife, a Mr Phynn, Messrs Hay and La Mothe, Dejean and Lernoult. He hopes to hear that those of the King's Regiment entitled to Chelsea [pensions] are sent home shortly.
