Full Description:
John Clapham, formerly of Maryland, to Clinton. Memorial. New York. Until 1775 was Comptroller of Customs for the port of Chester [Maryland], Commissioner of the Loan Office, Clerk of the Board of Revenue and Keeper of the Rent Roll for the Western Shore. Asks for temporary rations for himself and his large family. The memorial is signed by James Chambers, Anthony Stewart, Robert Alexander, Henry Stevenson, Charles Gordon, Thomas C [?Williams] and Hugh Wallace. With an order granting rations.
