Full Description:
John Campbell to Clinton. 'Head Quarters Lines of Fort George, Pensacola'. Detailed report of the Spanish attack on Pensacola. The troops shipped from Louisiana by passage of the 'Lakes', including 'militia, negroes and mulattos'. Their naval force consisting of two 36-40 gun frigates, one twenty gun frigate, and two armed snows [i.e. two masted sailing vessels]. Also refers to an attack on the Spanish camp between the lagoon by the Choctaws and the expected arrival of Upper Creek(s and more Choctaw) reinforcements.
