Full Description:
[General Sir Henry Clinton] to Major-General Eyre Massey. A letter from Headquarters in New York acknowledging letter of '13th instant' and the receipt of engineers report on Halifax's defences. A suggestion of further strengthening made also to Brigadier Maclean regarding this matter. Satisfaction of sufficient troops to defend Halifax. When replacement troops arrive, and marines can depart for England, have no objection to this departure as well.
