Full Description:
Cornwallis to Clinton. Yorktown, Virginia. Has ventured this last two days to look General Washington's whole force in the face in the position on the outside of his works. Has the pleasure to assure there was one wish and that was that the enemy would advance. Has this evening received a letter of 'the 24th' which has given the greatest satisfaction, and no doubt that if relief arrives in any reasonable time, York and Gloucester will both be in possession of His Majesty's Troops. Also on the want of medicines.
