Full Description:
Clinton to Leslie. New York. Number 1. Acknowledges previous letters. Discussion which includes, reduction of men fit for duty, the want of confidence in the army, and the keeping of possession of much of the province of South Carolina. General Greene's intention of attacking Savannah, Corps of Cornwallis's army, and the appointment of Lieutenant-Colonel Stewart. Officers of police at Charlestown, rents demanded for the houses, and the accounts sent to he Quartermaster General's Department. At liberty as regard to the post of His Majesty's Receiver General, and is asked to send a report in respect of the loss of the hospital at Colleton.
