Full Description:
Lieutenant-Governor Archibald Campbell to General Sir Henry Clinton. A letter from Spanishtown, Jamaica acknowledging letters of the '4th and 13th', enclosing one of 13 March to the General Officer commanding in the Leeward Islands. Thanking him for sending 2,000 men for the relief of Jamaica incase of attack. Also contains news of Sir George Rodney's victory over the French fleet and states that the beaten ships have gone to the Cape so England can feel safe from them and the Spanish with Rodney around, even with French and Spanish troops near by at Cape Francois. Request for more troops and an engineer.
