Full Description:
Leslie to Carleton. Charleston. Number 1. According to instructions to withdraw the King's forces from Savannah and St Augustine, he has sent Captain Skelly with copies of these orders to the commanding officers at these posts. Is uncertain whether 10,500 tons of shipping will be adequate for bringing off these garrisons but none can be added from these posts. No changes have occurred with regard to the armies since the last dispatch. Scarcity of rum and oats amongst his troops. New Porvidence, with all the Bahama Islands having surrendered to Spain. Goveror Maxwell has dispatched a flag of truce with the accounts of the surrender. He himself and the garrson have sailed for England.
