Full Description:
Leslie, Charleston to Carleton. 'No. 4'. His letter sent via the fleet from Savannah is expected soon. Refers him to Brigadier-General Clarke for an account of the evacuation of Savannah, the scarcity of provisions in Florida and the disembarking of the Florida Rangers in Charleston itself. In response to a request from Sir James Wright and the inhabitants will ask Captain Swiney to ship around 2,000 'negroes' to Jamaica. [Continues in same manner on matters relating to the evacuation of Charleston and the fate of both military and civilians]. Also reports the joining of [Nathanael] Greene's American forces by 300 men under General Pickens.
