Carleton to General Frederick Haldimand. New York. Discusses how Congress and the Pennsylvania Assembly have determined to make two incursions into the Seneca Indian country in October. One expedition under Major-General Potter from the west bank of the Susquehanna (with 400 Continentals and 600 militia volunteers), and the other under General Irwin (with 1,000 men) from Fort Pitt towards Lake Erie. Also mentions French troops and ship availability.
