Full Description:
Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Donkin to Carleton. Queen Street, Westminster. In the past, requested a renewal of his leave of absence but since then finds that Captain Thomas Baddely has died at Charlestown. As he apprehended the captain-lieutenancy was never filled up, begs leave to recommend the succession by seniority according to the enclosed. Submitting entirely to His Excellency's pleasure to do as he should think fit. Also, he learns from Adjutant Dunn that he would rather resign that commission than risk his health at Bermuda and begs leave to recommend Sergeant-Major Thomas Lisle to succeed him. Lastly, begs Mr Dunn may remain in his command of lieutenant and paymaster if agreeable.
