Full Description:
Carleton to Lieutenant-Colonel Benjamin Thompson. New York. Warrant or authority to complete the King's American Dragoons to the full establishment of six troops of sixty men each, including the non-commissioned officers. Also to raise in the same manner four companies of Light Infantry consisting of one captain, one lieutenant, one ensign, three sergeants, three corporals, two drummers and fifty two private men each. Discusses how the whole are to be put upon the British establishment upon their embarking for the West Indies. Lastly to raise fifty two Black Pioneers with four sergeants and four corporals from free 'negroes'.
