Full Description:
Charles Ogilvie and others to Carleton. Jamaica. Memorial of a number of loyal subjects formerly of South Carolina and Georgia requesting a further allowance of provisions, especially for the 'negroes' among whom there is great sickness. The continuation of the dry weather has made it impossible to make any real progress in raising crops. The return of peace has greatly reduced the demand for 'negro' labour and makes it difficult to obtain employment for those who are able to work. Twenty signatories.
