Full Description:
Lieutenant-Colonel John Hamilton, St Augustine Barracks, to Brigadier-General McArthur. Relates that officers and soldiers of the North Carolina Regiment under his command seem resolved to depart for some British settlement whenever so ordered, either to Britiain, Halifax [Nova Scotia] or the West Indies. Some want to get their discharge before they depart fearing they might be separated from their families.
