Full Description:
[Carleton] to Major-General James Paterson. New York. Number 10. Returns a copy of the memorial of Messrs. Cochran and Abbot of Halifax, with the report of the Commissary-General. Also an estimate of the sum that appears to be justly due to them in consequence of the detention of 545 barrels of flour, which in compliance with the orders given in December last, should have been delivered to them. Desires for Paterson to order the sum of £2,313 3s 11d Halifax currency to be paid to them to reimburse them the original cost of the said quantity of flour and the charges thereon. Notes that it remains that you will be pleased to explain why those orders were not complied with.
