Full Description:
Major William Anstruther to [Carleton]. Bermuda. Explains that he is at a distance from the offices and unacquainted with the alterations. That he acted according to the printed instructions of the Barrack Office signed by Colonel Crosbie. Sends these instructions with the Quartermaster of the Battalion and Lieutenant Blundell, that Mr Watson may see by what authority he acted. He was obliged to give authority and weight to the bills by his endorsement. Hopes that as he has followed instructions, the difficulties will be removed and he will be relieved of the seeming intended prosecution of the people. Asks him to comply with the enclosed request from Captain Kelly. 5,000 more bricks will be wanted for the cistern.
