Full Description:
Carleton to William Deane Poyntz. New York. Warrant to pay Ensign George Thomas, paymaster to the King's American Regiment of Foot the sum of £869 5s sterling. Being subsistence for the said regiment from 25 August to 24 October 1783, both days included as per the annexed account. From which £184 8s ½d sterling is to be detained for 17,703 rations of provisions issued, and £170 18s 6½d sterling for stoppage of 2½d a day from each man from 25 August to 24 October.
