Full Description:
Brook Watson to De Lancey. Commissary-General's Office, New York. Sends accounts of provisions delivered to the 1st and 2nd battalions, 71st Regiment from the end of 1778 to 24 April 1781. Cannot supply any accounts from 25 April 1781 to the evacuation of Charleston, Major Morison who was in charge having taken with him all his papers. Has already sent an account of the number of rations delivered at New York. Does not know what stoppages have been made from the regiment, these can be ascertained only from the Deputy Paymaster-General. Has reason to believe there is a very large demand against the regiment on that account.
